I will be on sabbatical from April to mid year 2017 while I move the practice to Waiheke Island and focus on family time and further my herbal education. About me |
I first received the call to shamanism when I experienced a profound healing at the age of 19, while I was still living in my native Texas. I had suffered from severe migraines for several years that had made normal life very difficult and that medical science had no real answer for. I had undergone numerous scans and tried more drug therapies, and experienced more side effects, than I can or care to remember. A friend suggested that I meet with her friend Francine Fields, who was a shaman. At that stage I thought that I had nothing to lose, so I agreed.
What happened to me was incredible. Within two one hour sessions I had gone from someone who had such a debilitating condition that I couldn't hold down a job, to a person who could function. Amazed, I undertook some basic training with her in Washington, USA. However, I wanted to continue with my studies in psychology and didn't feel ready to pursue shamanism professionally. In 2006, as a young mother, I gained a Second Degree in Reiki Usui, which I have found to be an excellent companion to shamanic work, or effective on its own. My second major call to shamanism came after a surgery left me with nerve damage affecting my right leg. I was in constant pain and once more, medical science had nothing to offer. Shamanic healing, however, did. I undertook training overseas in Spain after my own profound healing experience. The training was intensive and life changing. I emerged from it energised and possessing an ever evolving host of techniques and experience that I have carried with me into my own growing practice. More recently, I have had the opportunity to complete a Foundations (Level 1) PlantRhythms Herbal Apprenticeship with Amy McComb, in the Wise Woman Tradition of Healing. In addition to carrying her amazing line of herbal medicines, I create customized basic remedies for clients according to their needs and manufacture a line of spirit lead herbal products, body care, and incenses. |

Fees/Bookings |
My rates are $100 per hour for those receiving a steady income and $80 an hour on concession, e.g. for students, pensioners, or beneficiaries. Most appointments run from 1 to 1.5 hours, but deeper work may need longer, but this will be discussed as it arises.
Barter may also be negotiated for services (e.g. help with the clinic gardens) or items (produce is always welcome). Payment plans are another option.
